Dan started his affinity with radio at a very young age, enjoying the programing of New Media Broadcasters KRYK 101.3 FM Retro Saturday Nights as well as KOJM’s old program Solid Gold Saturdays. His love of music started at a young age having the influence of an older sibling with impeccable music choices. He learned in and outs of broadcasting from then KNMC manager Kendall Griggs, allowing him his own radio show at the young age of 11 years old on KNMC 90.1 FM in the Tower of Power in Cowan Hall. His show evolved over the middle and high school years, becoming a staple of the programming, with the weekly Tuesday show. For a short period of time hosting a round table discussion with various guest hosts. This show transformed into the Eclectic Arrangement, becoming a fusion of classic rock, current hip-hop, grunge, blues and acoustic songwriters.
Upon graduation, Dan enrolled into the Broadcast Journalism program at the University of Montana. At Missoula, he spent two semesters DJing at KBGA 89.9 FM as well as enjoying other aspects of journalism. Since graduating from Northern, with a degree in Secondary Education; he spent two years teaching in Montana, as well as abroad. The opportunity came to him to become a broadcaster at the station he spent his childhood listening to, so he jumped into the radio deep end. Turns out the kid can swim and it has become a dream come true.
