HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Saturday, about 75 Montana State University-Northern students will graduate during their fall commencement ceremony. Chancellor Greg Kegel says they will hold the ceremony in the new Diesel Technology Center at 10 AM. They will hand out Bachelor’s and Associate’s Degrees to students from all different majors.
“We had, last year, it was kind of impressive, the amount of moms and dads and grandmas and grandpas that traveled here to see the ceremony. In fact, it was actually so well attended by them that we decided to put it on a Saturday instead of the middle of the week just to accommodate their travel.”
Kegel says they’ve held this event at other venues around campus in the past and he’s excited to hold it in the new Diesel Building this year.
“We’ve done it on different places on the campus, trying to find venue that, you know, is warm and inviting. And, did it over in the Hensler Auditorium one year and I thought that just didn’t feel right. We’ve done it in the basement of the Library, which is really nice, but it’s crowded. And so this one gives us a little more room. The building’s new.”
Kegel says they started holding a fall ceremony a few years ago to recognize these students, as most of them weren’t returning for the spring graduation.
