Honduran Man Sentenced to 4 Months for Illegal Entry

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – A Honduran man was sentenced on Wednesday for being in the United States illegally in U.S. District Court in Great Falls. Jose Ventura-Padilla was sentenced to the Bureau of Prisons for four months.

Upon his release, he will be turned over the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation proceedings. If Ventura-Padilla returns to the United States, he will be placed on active supervised release for one year.

According to court documents, Ventura-Padilla was found in Havre without having express consent of the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission into the United States. He had previously been deported and removed from the United States in August 2010 after having been convicted of a felony in the Southern District of Texas in November 2009.
