HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – This Saturday, Bear Paw Ski Bowl will open their new ski rental shop from 10 AM to 4 PM in the Creative Leisure building. President of the Snowdance Ski Association Claire Stoner says they’re not sure what their regular hours will be, but they hope to open the ski hill after the new year.
“We’ll have a grand opening from 10 to 4 on Saturday the 15th and if people want to get seasonal rentals, we only have skis available for seasonal rentals, not snowboards. But they could get their skis set up and then they can, you know, use them to ski anywhere.”
Earlier this year, they received a donation of skis and equipment from Bridger Bowl and they recently were donated snowboard equipment. Master Sports also donated tuning equipment.
“So we decided we would start a rental shop since there was no rentals in town and it would make it more affordable for families to get skiing and get out to Bear Paw. And then we had First National Pawn donated snowboards, snowboard boots, helmets and goggles.”
They are getting several people certified to set bindings and they will have seasonal ski rentals available this year. If you want to volunteer or want more information, visit Bear Paw Ski Bowl’s Facebook page.
